“AMID THE HIGHEST PEAK OF TECHNOLOGY”

How does technology differ from educational technology in pedagogical concept? Technology is defined as the usage and knowledge of tools, techniques, crafts, systems or methods of organization in order to solve a problem or create an artistic perspective while, Educational technology is simply defined as the use of tools by teachers to improve their capacity to educate students. Technology itself is the main instrument or should I say the channel, where we can enhance the learners to be more creative and innovative. Most particularly nowadays, that technology is the center of attention of the society. Access to technology improves education in a way that it would be much easier for us students in getting the information we need in just one click.

However, the teacher or the facilitator should not forget the disadvantages it possessed for an instance, the information that were posted in the internet are sometimes not accurate or it’s not true. There are various disadvantages of technology one of those is its’ ability to snatch the innocence of children by giving them an easier access to adult material. So the teacher plays an important role in guiding the students to be well equipped with the technology but at the same time helping them to be responsible enough not to abuse its usage.

“PAST EXPERIENCES USED AS A TOOL FOR LEARNING

Constructivist’s theory is a theory that states that learning is based on past experiences that started as a theory in Russian art during Middle Ages. As a student I would like to agree with this theory because learning occurs if in any way, a certain question is based on your past experiences because you can easily relate to it. Moreover, in Oras’s own perspective to learn is to experience, where in there should be an interaction between you and the environment. According to this theory “The previous knowledge, concepts and views of the students about an issue or issues are the starting point of learning” We cannot deny the fact that in life, past events are directly connected with the present meaning, there is attachment or connection. So students would easily come up with new ideas because of the past events in their lives. However, not all learning’s came from what you had encountered or experience because it might be that it will be based on “vicarious experience” which means to say that you learned from the experiences of other persons through observations. As a teacher or facilitator, it is his duty to ensure that the center of learning are the students and that they would really digest mentally, all the information that they have learned.
